Income Hub Disclosures

The information presented in the Income Hub is for informational purposes only. It is not investment advice, guidance or a recommendation to purchase, hold or sell any security, open a brokerage account, or engage in any investment strategy.

Income includes dividends from equities, US government and corporate bonds interest, high-yield cash account interest, royalty payments and interest from securities lending and brokerage cash. The total income displayed for the selected time period may include both received and estimated income. Your income will only include interest and dividends from products you are or previously invested in.

Received income is the actual income received directly from incoming dividend and interest payments, except for income received from your Treasury Account, which is calculated as the total gains earned within your Jiko brokerage account over the applicable time period and includes both interest and capital gains less fees paid.

Estimated income refers to potential income you can expect to receive based on your current holdings. Estimated income will not include interest from royalty payments, securities lending, or brokerage cash.

Estimated income is strictly an approximation of the dividends and interest anticipated to be earned on your investments based on your current account holdings. The estimates are based on the expected dividends and interests paid on the securities held in your account as of today. Estimates may include information obtained from third parties. Information is presented as-is and the estimates are not guaranteed for accuracy or completeness by Public Investing. Past performance does not guarantee future results and your actual income generated may be materially higher or lower than the estimates provided here. Your account statement is your official record of your holdings.

The amounts shown do not necessarily reflect the effects of taxes, fees, or changes to company policies and may be overstated. Changes to company dividend policies, frequency, or number of dividend payments may also impact actual realized incomes. Public Investing does not provide tax advice.

Methodologies

Estimated income* is calculated as follows:

  • Dividends from equities: Calculated using the next estimated dividend or received dividend if the next is not available. Assumes the current quantity owned and the dividends per share amount remain constant, and extrapolates that amount over the current and future 11 months using the dividend frequency. Estimated dividends do not take into consideration the ex-dividend date or the date you opened your position. Estimated dividends may also be inflated or deflated due to recent corporate actions where the new estimated dividend is unavailable.
  • Interest from bonds: Calculated using the schedule set by the bonds issuer (including rate, frequency, next payment date, and maturity). Assumes interest is paid on schedule, the issuer is not in default, and the bond has not been called.
  • Interest from Treasury Account: Calculated using the schedule set by the issuer for the underlying bonds owned within your Jiko brokerage account. Only includes interest through your treasury bills current maturity, and does not assume automatic rollovers.
  • Interest from your High-yield Cash Account: APY is converted to a daily interest rate, which is then used to calculate interest payments based on the daily balance. Assumes monthly payments on the 16th, or next business day, and a monthly compounding of interest earning balance.
  • Interest from Bond Account: Calculated using the schedule set by the bonds issuer (including rate, frequency, next payment date, and maturity) for the underlying bonds owned within your Bond Account. Assumes interest is paid on schedule, the issuer is not in default, and the bond is not called.

* Estimated income will not include interest from royalty payments, securities lending, or brokerage cash.
