Bulls say
Procter & Gamble is viewed positively because its broad portfolio of more than 20 billion-dollar brands and annual sales above $87 billion provide durable scale, pricing power, and resilience across categories and geographies. The outlook is further supported by expectations for about 2% organic sales, with a rebound in the US, strength in Enterprise markets and China, and improving execution after prior shipment-consumption gaps and share losses were addressed through pricing and distribution actions. Although higher oil, freight, and tariff costs are a near-term headwind, the business remains positioned to grow within its 0-3% EPS guidance while benefiting from share gains, cost savings, and working-capital improvements.
Bears say
Procter & Gamble is viewed cautiously because its core U.S. market has shown sequential deceleration, with organic sales of -1% in North America and management flagging Q2 as the lowest-growth quarter of the fiscal year, while broader headline organic sales were only 0% in F4Q’26. Although China and select enterprise markets showed resilience, the company still faces a soft global demand backdrop, uneven share trends, and a likely drag from baby and grooming categories as consumers trade down under macro pressure. Margin recovery also looks constrained by cost volatility and front-half pressure, even after tariff and commodity headwinds improved to about $400 million and $100 million for FY’26, leaving the near term vulnerable despite its scale and strong brand portfolio.
