ONT Analyst Ratings
Bulls say
Onterris is well positioned for growth because it serves a large, fragmented environmental services market with a broad, integrated offering across air, water, and soil, while its long track record of EBITDA profitability since 2012 supports durability through cyclical swings. The latest results showed resilience despite timing disruptions: Q1 revenue fell 5% y/y, but adj. EBITDA margin expanded to 10.6%, C&T margins rose to 17.6%, and management reaffirmed 2026 guidance on the view that delayed work is shifting, not disappearing. Its outlook is further strengthened by healthy pipelines, cross-selling, secular demand tied to water infrastructure and environmental compliance, and strong margin recovery as weather-related delays normalize through the balance of 2026.
Bears say
Onterris is facing a weakening fundamental setup, as Q1 revenues declined 5% year over year to $168.5MM and adjusted EBITDA slipped 6% to $17.8MM, both below expectations, with lower emergency response activity and severe winter weather disrupting field work and lab volumes. Although management still described underlying demand as solid, the company’s core Measurement & Analysis business saw revenue fall 9% and margin compress to 18.4% from 23.3%, while operating cash flow was negative $11.6MM and free cash flow was negative $17.2MM. The outlook remains negative because the business is exposed to quarterly volatility, acquisition integration risk, and regulatory sensitivity, and estimates for 2026 and 2027 were trimmed despite reaffirmed guidance.
