Bulls say
Guardian Metal Resources is viewed positively because its Pilot Mountain PFS materially upgraded and expanded the Desert Scheelite and Garnet resource, including 11.8M tonnes of WO3 in probable classification at 0.171% and 12.1M tonnes of indicated resource at 0.178%, with Garnet adding 2.16M tonnes previously not contemplated. The outlook is further strengthened by positive drilling at the newly discovered Tremor and Good Hope zones, which may extend mineralization, grow the resource base, and support mine-life extension as the project advances toward the DFS in early 2027, while Tempiute offers near-term optionality from tailings, stockpiled ore, and possible revenue as early as next year. Financially, estimated all-in sustaining costs of $581.51/MTU are far below current spot pricing of $3,075/MTU and even the company’s $1,937/MTU base case, implying substantial EBITDA upside from a de-risked tungsten project.
Bears say
Guardian Metal Resources is exposed to significant fundamental risk because its value is highly tied to volatile tungsten pricing, which can swing revenue, operating profitability, EBITDA, and cash flow from quarter to quarter. Its Nevada project pipeline also faces execution risk from supply chain disruptions, equipment issues, unfavorable weather, and potential capital cost overruns, while competitive pressures and new market entrants could add supply and pressure pricing. In addition, the company will likely need additional debt or equity funding to advance its planned expansion projects, and any easing of trade restrictions or critical mineral policies could reduce the strategic importance of its domestic tungsten assets.
