As innovations like fractional investing have made the stock market more economically accessible to more people, there are still barriers to entry created by a lack of financial literacy. Only 10% of U.S. adults under the age of 45 have a high degree of financial literacy, and 55% of people end up teaching themselves how to invest.
People tend to fear what they don’t know, and the perceived complexities of the stock market can stop people from ever getting started.
