Bulls say
NCR Voyix is attractive because its VCP rollout is gaining traction, with 25 signed contracts and RCV up 65% Y/Y to $286 million, signaling improving adoption across retail and restaurants. Its 2Q results also showed healthier fundamentals, as revenue of $523 million, adjusted EBITDA of $98 million, and an 18.7% margin reflected a mix shift toward recurring software and payments, while platform sites rose 10% Y/Y to 85,000. The outlook is further supported by a cleaner financial profile in FY27 as the ODM agreement, Japan divestiture, and restructuring expenses roll off, alongside $237 million of cash, $56 million of adjusted free cash flow, and an inexpensive ~4x EV/FY27E EBITDA valuation.
Bears say
NCR Voyix is exposed to weaker demand if a prolonged economic downturn or recession reduces customer spending in Retail and Restaurants, slowing new-logo wins and delaying conversions to its SaaS-based platform. The April 13, 2023 ransomware-linked data center outage highlights meaningful operational and cybersecurity risk, since further outages could disrupt service, increase churn, and pressure revenue as more of the installed base moves to the cloud-native Voyix Commerce Platform. Profitability is also vulnerable to slow VCP and Aloha Next adoption, long POS replacement cycles, competitive pressure, hardware cost inflation, and post-separation dis-synergies, with downside reflected in the possibility of EV/EBITDA compression to ~3x FY26 estimate.
