DEFT Analyst Ratings
Bulls say
DeFi Technologies is viewed favorably because it generated $11.2m of revenue and $4.9m of net income in 1Q26 despite what management described as the trough of the current crypto bear market, while still holding $103.4m of cash and stablecoins plus $23.5m of crypto treasury holdings. Its Valour platform remained resilient even with average AUM of $533.6m, and the company is expanding beyond retail-led ETPs into institutional funds, custody, and capital markets infrastructure that should attract larger, stickier flows. In 2Q26, more than 40% of $22.8m in net inflows came from institutional events and outreach, while Stillman Digital’s $2.5m in trading commissions, up 30.2% year over year, showed that monetization can grow even when asset prices are volatile.
Bears say
DeFi Technologies is facing a weak fundamental setup because 2Q26 revenue fell to $7.8m from $11.2m in 1Q26 and $13.1m in 2Q25, while core operating revenue of $5.5m annualizes to only about $22m amid a depressed 3.3% monetization rate. Its monetization compression reflects a product mix skewed toward low-fee bitcoin and ether ETPs, with 46% of 2Q26 AUM in those assets and less support from higher-yielding altcoin products when crypto market dominance shifts. Although Stillman Digital grew commissions 38% yoy to $2.9m, the business still faces crypto volatility, regulatory risk, and a breakeven hurdle near $495m of AUM even under favorable assumptions.
