BBUC Analyst Ratings
Bulls say
Brookfield Business is attractive because it combines disciplined capital recycling with proven value creation, targeting $6B of proceeds over the next 5Y and already generating $1.4B in the last 12 months, while repurchasing $335M+ of stock since the start of 2025 at roughly a 50% discount to NAV. Its operational model also supports upside, with 500 AI use cases identified across the portfolio, 150 in use, and expected EBITDA benefits of $150M+, alongside a strong 19% net IRR track record and NAV growth to $56, up 4% YoY. The valuation still looks compelling given the 46% discount to current NAV and 52% discount to forward NAV, while assets like Clarios, which could double in 5 years, and the new $150M AI services JV reinforce the company’s ability to compound value.
Bears say
Brookfield Business is facing a weak fundamental setup because its underlying investments may underperform, driving EV/EBITDA multiple compression of 1x across Industrials, Infrastructure Services, and Business Services. If monetization activity dries up and the NAV discount widens to 50%, the valuation case deteriorates further, while the company’s largest revenue segment in Industrials would be especially exposed to lower asset quality and weaker cash-flow realization. Although Sagen’s Q1/26 loss ratio rose to 12% from 5% in 2025 and the prior 4-year average, management says this remains manageable and expects stability in 2026, but the broader downside still points to strained earnings power and weaker capital recycling.
