AII Analyst Ratings
Bulls say
American Integrity is benefiting from a sharper, more profitable business mix, as voluntary-market premium growth of 28% helped offset only 81 Citizens policies assumed while gross written premiums still rose 14%. Its underwriting is improving materially, with reported EPS of $1.78 far above consensus and a 63.4% combined ratio driven by a 31% loss ratio, a 33% expense ratio, no catastrophe losses, and no reserve development. The positive outlook is further supported by Florida tort reforms that cut litigation claim frequency from 15% in 3Q21 to 1-2% today, plus a June 1 reinsurance renewal that lowered risk-adjusted rates 15-20% and reduced aggregate retention to $75 million.
Bears say
American Integrity is fundamentally vulnerable to a concentrated Florida-only, monoline book, with 98.6% of direct premiums written and 97.6% of policies in-force in Florida as of December 31, 2024, leaving earnings highly exposed to the state’s regulatory, legal, economic, and weather conditions. The company’s heavy catastrophe risk is acute because severe storms and changing climate conditions could overwhelm reinsurance limits and quickly erode capital, while reliance on third-party distribution partners with Florida restrictions may constrain growth and retention. Although it has been profitable and growing since 2006 and is the seventh largest residential property writer in Florida, that narrow footprint leaves little diversification to absorb volatility in a newly public company.
