We are all aware that gas prices are high. Basic economics tells us that price rises when you have more demand than supply. ⛽️ My question is... at what price do you stop extracurricular driving? 🚘 (include your state as well) At some price, when people do stop driving as much, demand will fall and supply can build up. This would, in theory, help the price of gas fall. Of course, this is in a perfect world and does not take into consideration MANY other macroeconomic factors. My answer: Around $10 is when I would stop driving anywhere but work, consolidate trips to the store, and make arrangements to visit my girlfriend less. I am in Michigan where the current average price is $5.21💰 Check the average in your state here: https://gasprices.aaa.com #economics #macroeconomics #gas #energy #inflation

In Arkansas at $4.51 I drive as little as possible already & no public transportation around here. I will still have a local AR vacation. Consolidating errands already

I'd rather not say where I live, but gas is $5.69 here. I feel like I've already stopped my extracurricular driving. However, I have also thought that @ $10/gallon is where I would get a bike and bike 9 miles to work and back.

Thinking about it, I would say $7. Currently South Carolina average gas price per gallon is $4.60, 40 cents less than the national average.

I stopped the extracurricular driving myself. It's slightly over 5$ a gallon here. I live about 40 minutes from Boston. It goes up every couple days. Highest i have paid in my lifetime. I have a 4 cyclinder car. 20 bucks last year almost filled my tank. Today 20 bucks doesnt give me half a tank. Biden threatening oil companies will result in what exactly? 4.70 a gallon in Kansas. We have already stopped running to town everyday, canceled 2 long distance trips and stopped spending money except for necessities. I live close to a major highway and I have noticed a very significant reduction in traffic on the highway, and a significant reduction in people getting gas at the station.

I'm curious on this too. I'm in a walkable city, so we're not experiencing these high gas prices the same way as others. But after planning a road trip for this summer, the total gas cost surprised me!

Our demand is “fueling” the length at which the price will continue to increase. We, as you probably know, basically negotiate with The Cartel. OPEC will only raise the price as long as the profit for them continues. There is a point when their profit starts to diminish, when we as a people refuse to be gouged. OPEC withholds the oil to pressure the highest price we are willing to pay. As longSee more

In my area of South Carolina, the avg price is 4.49 (regular.) Presently, I’ve cut out most extracurricular travel. If the price gets to $7, I’ll consider a bike purchase for work.

Overall, I have been cutting unnecessary driving in general because it’s better for the environment. It also can really help save you some money on gas each month, and it adds up, which is helpful when your on a budget. 😋 Also, currently I’m in Estonia on a summer mission trip, and all I use are bikes to get everywhere and it’s a much greener and cleaner place in general with how much the environSee more

I already have. We will drive to the Ozark area- roughly 400-500 miles round trip next month. It’s an extended family gathering. In August, wanted to road trip to Minnesota then Wisconsin, head back home through Chicago and St Louis then Kansas City to hit a few baseball games at the different parks. Unless prices come down, the trip will be cut short. We own a 2013 Nissan Leaf and have been uSee more

I have been walking to work, and now have a budget for driving around and wasting gas... so going out to see more nature and birds is worth, less drinks and in town entertainment.

Oops worded my post wrong, well you know what I mean...going out in nature is worth more than drinks and in-town entertainment...

$10 a gallon is not so bad.. reminds me of the mothers who have to pay $80 a day just to make $150 a day for daycare… prices will always go up on everything! That’s just life and it’s not so bad as long as we are improving and our paychecks are going up as well!!! #Invest

I stay in Texas Gas is 4.60 but I use 89 so maybe 4.80-5.00 for me I have a jeep. I still go out when I can but I never drive my own car I always catch rides with my friends I get full up my tank 3 times every month. Witch is great for me. I'm in my late 20s, live in Sacramento CA, drive an 05 Toyota matrix. I paid $6.19 this week for regular. Living only 3 miles (like 13 mins of city driving) to work helps but walking or biking would be difficult with everything I take with me (brief case, small cooler with lunch) as well as my uniform that would put me at risk in the areas I pass through (business attire). In a republican ran state, we are sitting at 4.26 as a nation I think the average is $6 at this point. Talk about a huge difference. We can honestly kiss our stocks goodbye at this point, this presidency has caused major impact to it people. Hopefully at some point someone deals with him, and prices start falling again.

No gas rises when a corrupt president is owned by a foreign country. The worst type of American is a democrat. They watched our cities burn & people get hurt. Now they let 400 000 immigrants run rampant through this country to cause problems. The democrats hate America. How could anyone vote for a guy that goes after children. I already do that as much as possible here in Texas. I am paying between 4.60 and 4.90. At 5.00 I stop. I still plan to travel to Fla. for vacation though... and my work commute will stop for a month.

Gas is around $4.75 where I am. I’ve always consolidated my errands and only go into the office when I absolutely have to. (I am fortunate in being able to work from home most days.)

When gas companies are pushing high prices based on maintaining unmaintainable profit shares we should probably not be talking about how the regular investor can make prices fall. IMHO

I’ve been driving a lot less myself other than work or buying food, I live in MI as well my last fill price was 5.17 which cost me 29.14 to fill less than half my tank, and its a 4cyl 2017 accord. Getting crazy even for the fuel efficient cars, I’ll be moving to TX soon and am not looking forward to paying all the gas prices on the way lol, but i gotta do what i gotta do. 🫣

Bonds.
“Bonds” shall refer to corporate debt securities and U.S. government securities offered on the Public platform through a self-directed brokerage account held at Public Investing and custodied at Apex Clearing. For purposes of this section, Bonds exclude treasury securities held in treasury accounts with Jiko Securities, Inc. as explained under the “ Treasury Accounts” section.

Investments in Bonds are subject to various risks including risks related to interest rates, credit quality, market valuations, liquidity, prepayments, early redemption, corporate events, tax ramifications and other factors. The value of Bonds fluctuate and any investments sold prior to maturity may result in gain or loss of principal. In general, when interest rates go up, Bond prices typically drop, and vice versa. Bonds with higher yields or offered by issuers with lower credit ratings generally carry a higher degree of risk. All fixed income securities are subject to price change and availability, and yield is subject to change. Bond ratings, if provided, are third party opinions on the overall bond's credit worthiness at the time the rating is assigned. Ratings are not recommendations to purchase, hold, or sell securities, and they do not address the market value of securities or their suitability for investment purposes.

A Bond Account is a self-directed brokerage account with Public Investing. Deposits into this account are used to purchase 10 investment-grade and high-yield bonds. The Bond Account’s yield is the average, annualized yield to worst (YTW) across all ten bonds in the Bond Account, before fees. A bond’s yield is a function of its market price, which can fluctuate; therefore a bond’s YTW is not “locked in” until the bond is purchased, and your yield at time of purchase may be different from the yield shown here. The “locked in” YTW is not guaranteed; you may receive less than the YTW of the bonds in the Bond Account if you sell any of the bonds before maturity or if the issuer defaults on the bond. Public Investing charges a markup on each bond trade. See our Fee Schedule.

Bond Accounts are not recommendations of individual bonds or default allocations. The bonds in the Bond Account have not been selected based on your needs or risk profile. You should evaluate each bond before investing in a Bond Account. The bonds in your Bond Account will not be rebalanced and allocations will not be updated, except for Corporate Actions.

Fractional Bonds also carry additional risks including that they are only available on Public and cannot be transferred to other brokerages. Read more about the risks associated with fixed income and fractional bonds. See Bond Account Disclosures to learn more.

High-Yield Cash Account.
A High-Yield Cash Account is a secondary brokerage account with Public Investing. Funds in your High-Yield Cash Account are automatically deposited into partner banks (“Partner Banks”), where that cash earns interest and is eligible for FDIC insurance. See here for a list of current Partner Banks. Your Annual Percentage Yield is variable and may change at the discretion of the Partner Banks or Public Investing. Apex Clearing and Public Investing receive administrative fees for operating this program, which reduce the amount of interest paid on swept cash. Neither Public Investing nor any of its affiliates is a bank. Learn more.

Cryptocurrency.
Cryptocurrency trading, execution, and custody services are provided by Bakkt Crypto Solutions, LLC (NMLS ID 1828849) (“Bakkt”). Cryptocurrency is highly speculative, involves a high degree of risk, and has the potential for loss of the entire amount of an investment. Cryptocurrencies offered by Bakkt are not securities and are not FDIC insured or protected by SIPC. Your cryptocurrency assets are held in your Bakkt account. Bakkt is a licensed virtual currency business by the New York State Department of Financial Services and a licensed money transmitter, but is not a registered broker-dealer or a FINRA member. Your Bakkt Crypto account is separate from your brokerage account with Public Investing, which holds US-listed stocks and ETFs. Please review the Risk Disclosures before trading.

Treasury Accounts.
Investing services in treasury accounts offering 6 month US Treasury Bills on the Public platform are through Jiko Securities, Inc. (“JSI”), a registered broker-dealer and member of FINRA & SIPC. See JSI’s FINRA BrokerCheck and Form CRS for further information. JSI uses funds from your Treasury Account to purchase T-bills in increments of $100 “par value” (the T-bill’s value at maturity). T-bills are purchased at a discount to the par value and the T-bill’s yield represents the difference in price between the “par value” and the “discount price.” Aggregate funds in your Treasury Account in excess of the T-bill purchases will remain in your Treasury Account as cash. The value of T-bills fluctuate and investors may receive more or less than their original investments if sold prior to maturity. T-bills are subject to price change and availability - yield is subject to change. Past performance is not indicative of future performance. Investments in T-bills involve a variety of risks, including credit risk, interest rate risk, and liquidity risk. As a general rule, the price of a T-bills moves inversely to changes in interest rates. Although T-bills are considered safer than many other financial instruments, you could lose all or a part of your investment. See Jiko U.S. Treasuries Risk Disclosures for further details.

Investments in T-bills: Not FDIC Insured; No Bank Guarantee; May Lose Value.

Banking services and bank accounts are offered by Jiko Bank, a division of Mid-Central National Bank. JSI and Jiko Bank are not affiliated with Public Holdings, Inc. (“Public”) or any of its subsidiaries. None of these entities provide legal, tax, or accounting advice. You should consult your legal, tax, or financial advisors before making any financial decisions.
