Where’s Santa!?
Looking at the volatility starting to think that the typical Santa rally that we tend to see might or might not have Rudolph taking off.
#santaclauserally is a rise in the stock market during the last five trading days of December and first two of January. While it’s still early to call, today was the color or Santa’s coat.
Why is this important for #investors ? Positive returns during this period are often followed by strong returns in January and an above-average annual market performance. Or historically, it stands to be that way. 😬
One thing that this pandemic has shown us is that trends can be tampered with. While past performance doesn’t guarantee future returns, it can act like a GPS.
The best rally on record? The Santa Claus rally produced the best returns during the 2008-09 holiday season, when a recovery from the financial crisis was underway. During this time, the S&P 500 gained 7.4%, which is almost double the gains of the next strongest rally in 2018. I remember this! I was just getting into investing good!
With #cloud , #ev and #tech going through a #selloff along with a bit of a dip, check your holdings to know how to handle the climate. Omarion, Omicron was not around then.
