While #nfts were introduced to the word as JPEGs, they have shifted into so much more. I tweeted about today how they would become more experienced based and we are seeing this in a major way, especially within Sports! We are seeing this with Coachella in real time, even though it isn’t sports related One of my favorite Teams, The Golden State Warriors (Dub Nation) have been pushing the roadmaps when it comes to NFTs. They had their first drop last season and are continuing it this year! Last year, the Warriors were the very first team to launch an NFT collection, which featured variations on the team's six championship rings and commemorative ticket stubs. They set the all-time single-item sports NFT record with $871,000. In total, the NFT collection sold 327 NFTs for over $2 million. This go round will be “responsive” or experience base. Each time the Warriors win a 2022 playoff series, the NFT will unlock new utilities and benefits. This collection is made up of 3,000 NFTs, featuring 12 different designs that will be randomly assigned to users when minted on the blockchain on FTX US (Which Curry is partner/investor). The benefits users receive will be based on the rarity of the NFT. The Warriors' 2022 Playoff NFT Collection will mint on Friday at 10 a.m. PT. A portion of the profits from the collection will be given to the Warriors Community Foundation, which works toward supporting education and youth development in the Bay Area.
