$SHIB Vs. $DOGE What are the communities like for both $SHIB and $DOGE , what do their roadmaps look like, and what does this mean for the short term and long term demand of both cryptocurrencies? -DOGE The official Dogecoin account on twitter has 2.4 million followers, the Dogecoin subreddit (r/dogecoin) has 2.2 million members, the Dogecoin discord has only to 24k members (almost), and DOGECOIN doesn’t appear to have an official telegram. -SHIBA The official Shib account on twitter has 1.8 million followers, the SHIBArmy subreddit (r/SHIBArmy) has 406k members, the official Shibatoken Community on discord has almost 145k members, and the ShibaSwap telegram channel has 73k members. -The “Elon Effect” There is something in this space known as the “Elon Effect”, the “DOGEFather”, or the “Musk Madness”, whatever you want to call it, there is no denying that Elon Musk has a massive influence over these to particular cryptocurrencies. Elon and Doge Elon Musk has over 62 million followers on twitter, and he tweets about DOGECOIN, a lot. He also has been in working with DOGECOIN developers since 2019 (via Jared Birchall, Elon Musk’s representative). -There are rumors that Elon Musk is the DOGECOIN “whale”. Supporters to the claim point to the fact that he admitted that HODL's DOGECOIN. Elon and Shiba Elon has never tweeted about Shiba Inu directly, this doesn’t stop SHIB’s price from pumping whenever he mentions DOGECOIN, or his Shib Inu puppy (Floki – another crypto). -Elon admitted that he does not hold SHIB What do the roadmaps look like? -DOGE DOGECOIN doesn’t have a roadmap actually, the closest thing that I could find to a roadmap was in an Aug. 16 post by the DOGECOIN Foundation. In the post they said that DOGECOIN developers will be creating additional DOGECOIN related products, other than the DOGECOIN wallet, with a focus on payment integrations. They also “vow to protect the Dogecoin brand”. This is in response to many efforts by individuals and Institutions globally, who have tried to take control of brand over the past few years. The DOGECOIN foundation is additionally trying to secure several years’ worth of funding from donors, so that they may hire a few full time developers, and other personnel for the project. There has also been a lot of talk / rumors about transitioning DOGECOIN’s blockchain from Proof of Work (PoW) to Proof of Stake (PoS), although I couldn’t find anything that says this is anything more than just talk and rumors. -SHIBA SHIBA INU has a roadmap that was updated as recently as July provided by Shitoshi Kusama. Developers are working on deploying the “Doggy DAO”, this will give governance of SHIBA INU’s ecosystem to BONE token holders. They (developers) are also trying to launch a LAYER 2 SIDECHAIN SOLUTION, known as SHIBARIUM. They hope to its launch will happen by the years’ end, with the BONE token being used for gas. SHIBA INU will launch the SHI token at a later date. This will be pegged to the $0.01 USD as a “stable coin”, with the LEASH token helping provide stability. Developers are working on an incubator for the community. This incubator will be for artists, writers, musicians, businesses, among other select groups that are a part of the SHIBA INU community. Some of these people will be invited to build up the content infrastructure for SHIBA NET. SHIBA NET is a #nft based marketplace that will live on SHIBARIUM, using the SHI token as payment for transactions. As for burning SHIB, this has yet happen in any meaningful way.
