⬇️ My quick take on $SQ ⬇️ Positives: - Stock price is up over 71% for the past year, and 1,975% since its IPO in 2015 - Earnings grew by 89% over the past year - Transaction-based revenue increase 26.6% from 2019 to 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, which increased overall transactions as businesses shifted to higher-priced card-not-present transactions - Bitcoin revenue accounts for $4.6 billion, just under 50% of the total net revenue of $9.5 billion; respective #bitcoin costs for the year ended December 31, 2020 increased by $4.0 billion or 780%, compared to the year ended December 31, 2019 - Digital payment growth is expanding internationally, and $SQ 's business model is adaptible in many countries outside the U.S. Risks and Uncertainty: - Focus on micro merchants ➡️high macroeconomic sensitivity - Lots of competition: $SQ has many major competitors including $PYPL , $SHOP , Stripe, $AAPL Pay, and $GOOGL Pay - Bitcoin risk: In February 2021, $SQ invested $170 million in bitcoin. The future value of Bitcoin is very volatile and unpredictable – customers should only buy with funds that they are prepared to lose. - Transaction losses: $SQ is exposed to transaction losses due to chargebacks as a result of fraud or uncollectibility. By the end of 2020, transaction losses increased by $44.8 million due to growth in Cash App. Expectations and Ratings: - Earnings vs Market: Earnings (46.9% per year) are forecast to grow faster than the US market (15% per year) - High Growth Earnings: Earnings are expected to grow significantly over the next 3 years - Revenue vs Market: Revenue (13.2% per year) is forecast to grow faster than the US market (9.3% per year) - Based on analysts offering 12 month price targets for SQ currently. The average price target is $280.38 with a high estimate of $380 and a low estimate of $185 - 22 buys, 12 hold, 1 sells (WSJ) I bought $SQ in 2019, and have been adding since then 🔥 (% total gain = 329.72% via Fidelity acct.)
