Did you hear that $AMZN is looking to open physical department stores? 🧐 What do you think about the potential move? How would it impact companies like $WMT , $TGT , $BBY , $ORLY and others? The video below has my thoughts. 🎥 https://youtu.be/31GycutMeZk

It may put a slight dent in their online commerce stranglehold, but it would definitely be a game changer 💵

🤔 Mind blown… I can’t imagine it

This is so interesting! @arbitrage (tagging you since I know you're a fan of $AMZN ) Do you think this in-store experience will impact the items that are popular on the website? know I purchase from $AMZN out of convenience for some products over quality, but if I had an option in a store where I could see the quality I might choose differently.
Todd Carlisle photo
Believe it or not they already existed. Amazon has physical bookstores currently. I think this is a major mistake. $WMT has been trying for 5 years at least to be Amazon now Amazon is trying to be Walmart? I promise you Walmart loves this development.

I think everyone has their own Amazon experience & expectations but the the overall consensus is $AMZN is the best retail delivery option. I’m excited to see how this affects the door dashes of the world. I see retail as yet another way for Amazon to speed up delivery and and expand its user bas. Over all I think online ordering trends will change but I believe Amazon will use its stores to shapeSee more

I Love the Idea. Too early to think about all the effects....But overall I think it would clear up all the returns and clutter....in that regard and for the Poor that Sounds AWESOME!!🤔🤔

Said it B4 and will say it again. Walmart will be closing most of their stores in near future. Turning their lots into Drive-In Theaters.✍️☝️ Just watch the Process & HODL🤷

If it does impact other retail stores at all, unless they can offer something no other store offers then I believe it will only be temporarily... A week or 2.

@TheYoungOldLateInvestor whatever it is you're smoking... You should probably put it away cuz it's got you thinking all kinds off nonsense. Why would walmart close a store that on average makes $120k every day to build a drive in theatre that could only be open at night?
Xander photo
It builds the question is $AMZN spreading itself to thin from their successful methods? Or is this the beginning of them pushing $WMT out?

Opening an Amazon Books and More Store? No way it’ll work here. They were able to take basically store like Barnes&Noble (which I loved ) and make it synonymous with Giant Super store ( that you don’t have to walk three miles for that one thing in the back of store for) why would they tamper with the formula, like $KO did with “New $COKE ” or $PEP with “Crystal Pepsi” ? IMHO Same reason $F and See more

If it's anything like their work with Hudson in airports, I think it will go well. Your purchase is automatic when you walk out of the store. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.modernretail.co/retailers/how-amazon-is-shaping-the-future-of-airport-retail/amp/

Meh idk. Why go there when they'll deliver so fast lol

Kevin, I heard and I’m not too concerned. I rarely buy clothes and electronics from Amazon. My go to for electronics is Costco. (It’s easy to take back and there is the extra warranty or/and service help.) I never think Amazon for clothes because of unfamiliarity with the labels. So maybe there is research to get people like me to consider Amazon for these things. Walmart is not the competition foSee more

@TheKateExperience Instant gratification over two day gratification. 😂

@tcardizzle totally agree! It seems like a backward move that plays right in to Wal-Mart’s hand

@Xander882214 yeah I'm not gonna lie. Lol I love it. You can do other things you need to do AND they'll bring it to me? Sweet.
Kevin Matthews II photo
@livepro39 I just bought some more clothes from Amazon 😅. But I think more people got to Target for clothes as well.

This is old news lol

I think it's a brilliant idea as long as CUSTOMER SERVICE is the main focus as Walmart has lost sight of this and the new self checkouts only exasperate the issue. A lot of violence at Walmart stores lately due to the huge lack of care

This is my personal nightmare. I need something. Only store is a huge Wally- I have to enter and work my way three miles back and over and through tires, bathroom decor, back to school supplies, aromatherapy and IF I do make it to the one area the one item I needed, it’s not available in full fat and sugar only frozen ice milk or some god awful dessert product ( so far from nutrients and it’s natuSee more

I believe with all the warehousing it's an easy way for Amazon to sell stock without having to pick and ship. They are already paying to put it in a building. I think we need a Buisness to step up and be a front runner in this pandemic. Stay open 24 hours please!!

Adding my point: sorry. It will not be a huge store. If it comes to brick and mortar it will not be a one stop shop all- they e tried prototypes in grocery stores, Amazon is cool it keeps searching for a better way to sell to us… but it won’t be another Wally. They MAY take over WalMart. Poor Sam lol. He truly started out selling USA made only and was a success. His successors achieved more, butSee more

I think this is a smart idea and I think they’re already doing this through the Amazon bookstore. I know they also have an Amazon Locker. This is a smart play because at the Amazon Bookstore, you not only can purchase stuff, but you can also return any items you’ve bought online. Hassle free. One step further - these stores give people the opportunity to in a way, see what an item looks like befoSee more

Smart move ... secure the market share of the people not wanting to buy exclusively online, provide an easier outlet for those on the fence. Buy up commercial real estate to choke out retail competitors. I could also see it as a way to shorten the return logistics, and sell those discount pallets more places without needing a shipping arrangement.

🎢 That would be a game changer & it might break the stock market lol I would def invest and hold long term

I think the postivie side of that for customer is they can return items they order online without the hassle of reboxing them print the return label and drop it to usps. I have some items that i bought in amazon that i ended up not liking it and resell them to fb marketplace.
Todd Carlisle photo
@TheKateExperience exactly. They have been spending absurd amounts of money to cut into UPS/FedEx by staring their own delivery service so this makes no sense. Let me be clear, having spent over 4 years of my life working for them I know what they do well and what they struggle with. They struggle with people. Hard. Anyone thinking they can just learn that skill needs to spend a day in a fulfilmentSee more

@victoria that’s a great statement and that’s why I think I’m store would be better how many times have we ordered something thinking it was bigger than it actually was 😂 ! I also think Amazon would become a bigger market platform for new small businesses to e-commerce they’re products that’s the perfect definition for the best of both worlds to me

Options.
Certain requirements must be met in order to trade options. Options can be risky and are not suitable for all investors. Options transactions are often complex, and investors can rapidly lose the entire amount of their investment or more in a short period of time. Investors should consider their investment objectives and risks carefully before investing in options. Bonds.
“Bonds” shall refer to corporate debt securities and U.S. government securities offered on the Public platform through a self-directed brokerage account held at Public Investing and custodied at Apex Clearing. For purposes of this section, Bonds exclude treasury securities held in treasury accounts with Jiko Securities, Inc. as explained under the “ Treasury Accounts” section.

Investments in Bonds are subject to various risks including risks related to interest rates, credit quality, market valuations, liquidity, prepayments, early redemption, corporate events, tax ramifications and other factors. The value of Bonds fluctuate and any investments sold prior to maturity may result in gain or loss of principal. In general, when interest rates go up, Bond prices typically drop, and vice versa. Bonds with higher yields or offered by issuers with lower credit ratings generally carry a higher degree of risk. All fixed income securities are subject to price change and availability, and yield is subject to change. Bond ratings, if provided, are third party opinions on the overall bond's credit worthiness at the time the rating is assigned. Ratings are not recommendations to purchase, hold, or sell securities, and they do not address the market value of securities or their suitability for investment purposes.

A Bond Account is a self-directed brokerage account with Public Investing. Deposits into this account are used to purchase 10 investment-grade and high-yield bonds. The Bond Account’s yield is the average, annualized yield to worst (YTW) across all ten bonds in the Bond Account, before fees. A bond’s yield is a function of its market price, which can fluctuate; therefore a bond’s YTW is not “locked in” until the bond is purchased, and your yield at time of purchase may be different from the yield shown here. The “locked in” YTW is not guaranteed; you may receive less than the YTW of the bonds in the Bond Account if you sell any of the bonds before maturity or if the issuer defaults on the bond. Public Investing charges a markup on each bond trade. See our Fee Schedule.

Bond Accounts are not recommendations of individual bonds or default allocations. The bonds in the Bond Account have not been selected based on your needs or risk profile. You should evaluate each bond before investing in a Bond Account. The bonds in your Bond Account will not be rebalanced and allocations will not be updated, except for Corporate Actions.

Fractional Bonds also carry additional risks including that they are only available on Public and cannot be transferred to other brokerages. Read more about the risks associated with fixed income and fractional bonds. See Bond Account Disclosures to learn more.

High-Yield Cash Account.
A High-Yield Cash Account is a secondary brokerage account with Public Investing. Funds in your High-Yield Cash Account are automatically deposited into partner banks (“Partner Banks”), where that cash earns interest and is eligible for FDIC insurance. See here for a list of current Partner Banks. Your Annual Percentage Yield is variable and may change at the discretion of the Partner Banks or Public Investing. Apex Clearing and Public Investing receive administrative fees for operating this program, which reduce the amount of interest paid on swept cash. Neither Public Investing nor any of its affiliates is a bank. Learn more.

Cryptocurrency.
Cryptocurrency trading, execution, and custody services are provided by Bakkt Crypto Solutions, LLC (NMLS ID 1828849) (“Bakkt”). Cryptocurrency is highly speculative, involves a high degree of risk, and has the potential for loss of the entire amount of an investment. Cryptocurrencies offered by Bakkt are not securities and are not FDIC insured or protected by SIPC. Your cryptocurrency assets are held in your Bakkt account. Bakkt is a licensed virtual currency business by the New York State Department of Financial Services and a licensed money transmitter, but is not a registered broker-dealer or a FINRA member. Your Bakkt Crypto account is separate from your brokerage account with Public Investing, which holds US-listed stocks and ETFs. Please review the Risk Disclosures before trading.

Treasury Accounts.
Investing services in treasury accounts offering 6 month US Treasury Bills on the Public platform are through Jiko Securities, Inc. (“JSI”), a registered broker-dealer and member of FINRA & SIPC. See JSI’s FINRA BrokerCheck and Form CRS for further information. JSI uses funds from your Treasury Account to purchase T-bills in increments of $100 “par value” (the T-bill’s value at maturity). T-bills are purchased at a discount to the par value and the T-bill’s yield represents the difference in price between the “par value” and the “discount price.” Aggregate funds in your Treasury Account in excess of the T-bill purchases will remain in your Treasury Account as cash. The value of T-bills fluctuate and investors may receive more or less than their original investments if sold prior to maturity. T-bills are subject to price change and availability - yield is subject to change. Past performance is not indicative of future performance. Investments in T-bills involve a variety of risks, including credit risk, interest rate risk, and liquidity risk. As a general rule, the price of a T-bills moves inversely to changes in interest rates. Although T-bills are considered safer than many other financial instruments, you could lose all or a part of your investment. See Jiko U.S. Treasuries Risk Disclosures for further details.

Investments in T-bills: Not FDIC Insured; No Bank Guarantee; May Lose Value.

Banking services and bank accounts are offered by Jiko Bank, a division of Mid-Central National Bank. JSI and Jiko Bank are not affiliated with Public Holdings, Inc. (“Public”) or any of its subsidiaries. None of these entities provide legal, tax, or accounting advice. You should consult your legal, tax, or financial advisors before making any financial decisions.
