Me to me: One of many advantages of #longterminvesting is that we pay much less in #taxes than if we are an active #shorttermtrader (those who keep their #investments for 365days or > ). So, like “date with intent to marry” ?lol otherwise if we play around, we pay tax at a top marginal tax rate…This could be anywhere from 10-40% ?! 💀 #Longterm #capitalgainstax are either 0%, 15%, or 20% at the #highest (depending on our #income ). Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.

#dividendaristocrats #themoreyouknow #longterminvesting #dividendinvestor A dividend aristocrat is a company that is a member of the S&P 500 and has increased their dividends consistently for 25 years or more. There are currently only 65 dividend aristocrats. The graphic below has the 12 with the highest yields. Do you own any of these? What's your pick and why? Let us know in the comments.See more

The market has come back stronger after every bear market, after every recession, after every crash. This is the time to remember that the market is a rollercoaster. It goes up and down. Now is the time to really do your research and buy companies you believe will survive and come out stronger on the other side. This is also the time to NOT panic sell. I'm not saying to just hold everythingSee more

Are you a beginner and new to the stock market? Came across this incredibly helpful and easy to understand 10-step plan (🔗 below). For your convenience, I’ve listed the 10 steps, and also give you some of my thoughts on each of them: 1. Build an emergency fund. 3-6 months. 2. Pay off high-interest debt. (My addendum: don't use credit cards unless you can zero them out.) 3. Pick a Broker and OpenSee more

#repost How long do corrections last? 🤔 This was one of my first posts back in September and I think it is far more relevant now than it was then. Hope yall find value in it. I made some adjustments in verbiage to reflect where are today. I think this is something important to know and be prepared for as a long term investor. A correction is defined as a 10% or more drop in one of the major indexSee more

How long do corrections last? I think this is something important to know and be prepared for as a long term investor. I personally have only been in the game for about 6 months, so I have yet to see a drop over 5%. A correction is defined as a 10% or more drop in one of the major indexes such as the S&P 500. Even with all the red we’ve seen this month, we haven’t even come close to a correction ySee more
