Life advice from mom: Have you ever done a fire drill? No, not at school. In your home. See, 2,580 people die in fires each year. Compared to 700 who died from natural disasters. Your chances of perishing in a fire are statistically much higher, and with the latest trends in manufacturing, you have on average TWO MINUTES to get outside safely with whatever you need to start over. You have two minutes to gather: any pets and children you have, some spare cash or your credit cards - enough to book a hotel and pay for a couple of days of expenses (like clothes if you don’t have a spare pair in a diaper bag or trunk), some form of identification, your phone, a way to access your insurance policy, and enough medication of whatever you take to last you at least 3 days. In preparedness circles, many people make a bag they refer to as their “Wake Up, Stuff’s Happening” bag, to grab in case of a fire or quickly evolving situation where they need to flee quickly. And let’s be real: right now, you have two minutes to get everything you need out of your house, could you do it? Could you even get your kids and pets out in 2 minutes? The most common places for house fires are kitchens, garages, and bathrooms. If one of those sparks off, are you separated from your kids or pets by the fire? If so, what’s your plan? Walking through fire looks cool in the movies and whatnot, but TRUST ME, the reality is not so fun, and you might have 30-60 seconds before the smoke makes it to where you can’t see anything. Could you find them in the dark? (A trick: have a wet rag over your mouth and nose and just like a maze, pick a direction left or right and follow the wall, sweeping out with your other hand. But ideally, you’ll never do that. Because you’ll do a fire drill, right?) Ultimately, you’re not testing yourself. If you have kids, you’re testing THEM: could they get out in 2 minutes? If they’re over about the age of 3, could they do it? That’s a serious question, and you shouldn’t hesitate with the answer. #lifeadvicefrommom #liftasyourise #dcacrypto #sellgreen #buyred #dca

Life advice from mom: Most coffee creamer isn’t actually cream. It’s corn starch, flavoring, sugar, and water. Don’t believe me? Go check. The corn starch gives the “creamer” the weighty feel, the sugar mimics the lactose. Just buying heavy cream and sugar instead yields an immediate 50% savings at my particular neighborhood grocery. Buying corn starch is even cheaper. I like the actual cream, though. #liftasyourise #dcacrypto #sellgreen #buyred #dca #lifeadvicefrommom

Life advice from mom: I opened my phone to an argument over kids making medical decisions, and my perspective is thus: Don’t JUST treat your kids like they’re humans in regards to their healthcare now. Do it ALL THE TIME. Personally, from the time my kids are 1. Talking and 2. Capable of understanding long term consequences, they are helping with their healthcare decisions. A good litmus test is asking your kid, “What do you do at a red light? Why?” If they answer “Stop”, and “I might get in an accident.” (NOT “The police will catch me.”), they understand social conventions, that very quick actions can have long term consequences, and that those consequences might be serious and they should stay where it’s safe. I view my role as parent not as arbiter of the veracity of their ailments, but as a safety lane to ensure that they don’t overdose themselves on Tylenol, and a resource to help them access the healthcare appropriate for their complaint. I encourage them to talk to the doctor and participate in decision making from the get go. Kid has headaches? Ok, want some tylenol? Need to see a doctor? Cool, I’ll schedule an appointment. “But they don’t look sick.” Well neither do I when I have a headache, Dave, how are you supposed to look? Yet, if you make every single medical decision for your kids and then suddenly decide there’s ONE you won’t make, well, you haven’t equipped them to make it. Yes, kids are people and deserve to have bodily autonomy and agency. Not just right now, though. Like… all the time. #dcacrypto #buyred #liftasyourise #lifeadvicefrommom

Life advice from mom: If you’re in my generation, you’ve probably eaten out your entire life, or had TV dinners, and you have no idea where to even start with cooking. Mom’s advice is to start small. Habits taken a long time to establish, and if you change one meal at a time, it’ll take you a year to go fully homemade on meals. That’s ok. But if you’re looking to save some money in our challenging economy, change your breakfast and lunch first. It’s relatively easy to get prepackaged goods for these meals: uncrustables, hot pockets, packaged oatmeal, cereal, etc., and that’s less expensive than a restaurant. THEN, go with some seasoned canned veggies and canned fruits and something easy like macaroni or hamburger helper for dinner. THEN, similarly, start cooking, starting with breakfast and lunch (cause those are EASY: a sandwich, some oatmeal, and don’t try to do your own thing, try to duplicate the packages you’ve been getting. Waffle mix is just 1:1 sugar : flour. Mix ½ a cup of milk with 1 cup of the mix you just made, bam, you’ve got waffles. Prepackaged oatmeal is just 2/3c of oats, and usually 1/3c of some form of sugar. Change the dinner last, because it’s the most challenging, and now you have the confidence to do it. Oh, yeah, and you’re gonna save BUCKETS of money. #liftasyourise #dcacrypto #sellgreen #buyred #dca #lifeadvicefrommom

Investors should consider their investment objectives and risks carefully before investing in options. Refer to the Characteristics and Risks of Standardized Options before considering any options transaction. Supporting documentation for any claims, if applicable, will be furnished upon request. Tax considerations with options transactions are unique and investors considering options should consult their tax advisor as to how taxes affect the outcome of each options strategy.

This rebate will be deducted from your cost to place the trade and will be reflected on your trade confirmation. Bonds.
“Bonds” shall refer to corporate debt securities and U.S. government securities offered on the Public platform through a self-directed brokerage account held at Public Investing and custodied at Apex Clearing. For purposes of this section, Bonds exclude treasury securities held in treasury accounts with Jiko Securities, Inc. as explained under the “ Treasury Accounts” section.

Investments in Bonds are subject to various risks including risks related to interest rates, credit quality, market valuations, liquidity, prepayments, early redemption, corporate events, tax ramifications and other factors. The value of Bonds fluctuate and any investments sold prior to maturity may result in gain or loss of principal. In general, when interest rates go up, Bond prices typically drop, and vice versa. Bonds with higher yields or offered by issuers with lower credit ratings generally carry a higher degree of risk. All fixed income securities are subject to price change and availability, and yield is subject to change. Bond ratings, if provided, are third party opinions on the overall bond's credit worthiness at the time the rating is assigned. Ratings are not recommendations to purchase, hold, or sell securities, and they do not address the market value of securities or their suitability for investment purposes.

A Bond Account is a self-directed brokerage account with Public Investing. Deposits into this account are used to purchase 10 investment-grade and high-yield bonds. The Bond Account’s yield is the average, annualized yield to worst (YTW) across all ten bonds in the Bond Account, before fees. A bond’s yield is a function of its market price, which can fluctuate; therefore a bond’s YTW is not “locked in” until the bond is purchased, and your yield at time of purchase may be different from the yield shown here. The “locked in” YTW is not guaranteed; you may receive less than the YTW of the bonds in the Bond Account if you sell any of the bonds before maturity or if the issuer defaults on the bond. Public Investing charges a markup on each bond trade. See our Fee Schedule.

Bond Accounts are not recommendations of individual bonds or default allocations. The bonds in the Bond Account have not been selected based on your needs or risk profile. You should evaluate each bond before investing in a Bond Account. The bonds in your Bond Account will not be rebalanced and allocations will not be updated, except for Corporate Actions.

Fractional Bonds also carry additional risks including that they are only available on Public and cannot be transferred to other brokerages. Read more about the risks associated with fixed income and fractional bonds. See Bond Account Disclosures to learn more.

High-Yield Cash Account.
A High-Yield Cash Account is a secondary brokerage account with Public Investing. Funds in your High-Yield Cash Account are automatically deposited into partner banks (“Partner Banks”), where that cash earns interest and is eligible for FDIC insurance. See here for a list of current Partner Banks. Your Annual Percentage Yield is variable and may change at the discretion of the Partner Banks or Public Investing. Apex Clearing and Public Investing receive administrative fees for operating this program, which reduce the amount of interest paid on swept cash. Neither Public Investing nor any of its affiliates is a bank. Learn more.

Cryptocurrency.
Cryptocurrency trading, execution, and custody services are provided by Bakkt Crypto Solutions, LLC (NMLS ID 1828849) (“Bakkt”). Cryptocurrency is highly speculative, involves a high degree of risk, and has the potential for loss of the entire amount of an investment. Cryptocurrencies offered by Bakkt are not securities and are not FDIC insured or protected by SIPC. Your cryptocurrency assets are held in your Bakkt account. Bakkt is a licensed virtual currency business by the New York State Department of Financial Services and a licensed money transmitter, but is not a registered broker-dealer or a FINRA member. Your Bakkt Crypto account is separate from your brokerage account with Public Investing, which holds US-listed stocks and ETFs. Please review the Risk Disclosures before trading.

Treasury Accounts.
Investing services in treasury accounts offering 6 month US Treasury Bills on the Public platform are through Jiko Securities, Inc. (“JSI”), a registered broker-dealer and member of FINRA & SIPC. See JSI’s FINRA BrokerCheck and Form CRS for further information. JSI uses funds from your Treasury Account to purchase T-bills in increments of $100 “par value” (the T-bill’s value at maturity). T-bills are purchased at a discount to the par value and the T-bill’s yield represents the difference in price between the “par value” and the “discount price.” Aggregate funds in your Treasury Account in excess of the T-bill purchases will remain in your Treasury Account as cash. The value of T-bills fluctuate and investors may receive more or less than their original investments if sold prior to maturity. T-bills are subject to price change and availability - yield is subject to change. Past performance is not indicative of future performance. Investments in T-bills involve a variety of risks, including credit risk, interest rate risk, and liquidity risk. As a general rule, the price of a T-bills moves inversely to changes in interest rates. Although T-bills are considered safer than many other financial instruments, you could lose all or a part of your investment. See Jiko U.S. Treasuries Risk Disclosures for further details.

Investments in T-bills: Not FDIC Insured; No Bank Guarantee; May Lose Value.

Banking services and bank accounts are offered by Jiko Bank, a division of Mid-Central National Bank. JSI and Jiko Bank are not affiliated with Public Holdings, Inc. (“Public”) or any of its subsidiaries. None of these entities provide legal, tax, or accounting advice. You should consult your legal, tax, or financial advisors before making any financial decisions. This material is not intended as a recommendation, offer, or solicitation to purchase or sell securities, open a brokerage account, or engage in any investment strategy.
