My thesis for movie theaters is simple: recovery of the box office to pre-pandemic levels (see full article below) 🎥 🍿 But what if I’m wrong, and theater foot traffic doesn’t recover? Some of these small, family-run theater/hotel chains such as $RDI and Marcus $MCS own a TON of real estate…probably worth more than the entire market value of the company! It’s an ideal value situation: upside from a recovering box office, with downside protected by hard assets. RDI had a buyout offer for $18 a share just a few years ago. Movie theaters might not be a great long-term hold, but I think you could potentially flip some of these stocks for a big profit in a year or two. We’ll see how the movie plays out… #valueinvesting #deepvalue #value https://thetycoonist.com/2022/08/01/the-end-of-movie-theaters-not/

See https://youtu.be/0TZ-zcEQEII for my deep dive on Palantir. From these prices, I expect the market cap to double over the next 5 years and increase 9.6x over the next 10 years. My investment thesis: * Scalable and general products means Palantir can companies in many industries * Good management with long-term vision * Palantir is very sticky; high switching costs make it less likely for customers to leave * “land and expand” strategy is effective * Palantir will capture 25%+ of its TAM * Continue to add more offerings/solutions over time * Makes it easy for companies to quickly benefit from their data * Not many direct competitors right now. Palantir adding more solutions and ensuring they work for small companies through the Foundry for Builders program will make it harder for potential competitors to compete #growth #longterm #optimistic #deepvalue
