#cryptocurious What type of asset class would you assign to Bitcoin? So I just watched the most recent episode of Millenial Money on Youtube: https://youtu.be/kKxZHD3PrbE A couple of topics covered: ✨ Bitcoin is still a fraction of the market cap of gold, so while the price is high it could still increase a lot more ✨ On the contrary, we could be in a crypto bubble much like the dot com bubble so there may be some speculation and risk in crypto. ✨ What type of asset class is crypto anyway? Now this question really stood out to me. Some people view crypto as a currency with a store of value, some treat it like a commodity (aka gold, silver, etc), some treat it like a security (aka like a stock) either to invest for a profit or to own in the belief of crypto's potential... You could argue that it is a combination of all the above or that it needs to be its own asset class. You can imagine why the SEC is having trouble figuring out how to classify it. What do you think?
