I invested $1 in AMZN at $113.28 per share which means, I now own 3.46415 shares of AMZN. #dcaAmazon #ClubDCA #pocketchangeinvestments 👇 Did you know that Amazon owns IMDb? I didn’t! Ok, maybe I knew and forgot. Anyway, this weekend while scrolling through my free and paid $ROKU App Library, as cord cutters frequently do, I noticed that the IMDb app that came preloaded with the streaming box looked different. Upon further inspection, I discovered it was now bright yellow and rebranded as “Freevee”. After doing some digging I found this information, via the internet's least reputable “scholarly” source (be honest everyone has tried citing 😂 Wiki at least once)👇 “Amazon Freevee launched as a free, ad-supported video channel by the Amazon-owned online database IMDb in January 2019, under the name IMDb Freedive.[1] The video-on-demand (VOD) service is available in the US and UK on both Amazon and IMDb's websites as well as on all Amazon Fire devices.[2] On June 17, 2019, IMDb Freedive announced its rebranding to IMDb TV. Signing new deals with Warner Bros., Sony Pictures Entertainment, and MGM Studios (which parent company Amazon later acquired on March 17, 2022),[3] the streaming service began offering new content.[4] Amazon announced that it would be moving IMDb TV's content team to within Amazon Studios on February 20, 2020, to develop original programming under new IMDb TV co-heads.[5] In September 2021, Amazon announced the launch of IMDb TV in the United Kingdom; it was formerly available only in the United States.[6] On April 13, 2022, it was announced that the service would be rebranded as Amazon Freevee beginning on April 27.[7]” -Wikipedia 👆to be honest, I probably did know Amazon owns IMDb because it’s my go-to source for movie & actor information. I’m willing to go on a limb and say, IMDb is probably the most underrated feature inside of the Amazon streaming app. While streaming on the Amazon app I sometimes pause the movies I’m watching just to see what IMDb info pops up. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amazon_Freevee

Today in Amazon news, Amazon’s ring smart doorbell service & the ring neighbors app is in the spotlight. If your not familiar with Ring, ring is a smart doorbell that debuted “on Shark Tank back in 2013, then known as “DoorBot.” They wanted $700,000 for 10 percent of the company, but no one took the deal”. Amazon is no stranger to doorbells or smart devices, last year (2021), the e-commerce behemoth delivered more than 5 billion packages in the U.S. m, compared to 5.5 billion packages delivered by its largest rival UPS. After Google’s $3.2 billion acquisition of Nest Labs in 2014 in January 2014, Nest Labs quickly grew from 280 employees to 1,100 employees by 2015. Under Google’s control Nest labs quickly began introducing smart devices in rapid succession. Amazon’s ring acquisition was made shortly after Nest announced its “Nest Hello, a smart video doorbell”. Prior to its 2018 acquisition of Ring Amazon was already capable of producing connected devices and even had a smart camera of its own so the Ring purchase was seen as a strategic move by Amazon’s. The purchase of Ring allowed Amazon to increase its market share and also prevented Ring from being acquired by its rivals google & Apple. 🗞 Todays news 📰 Amazon's Ring gave a record amount of doorbell footage to the government in 2021 “The Amazon-owned company said in two biannual reports covering 2021 that it received 3,147 legal demands, an increase of about 65% on the year earlier, up from about 1,900 legal demands in 2020. More than 85% of the legal demands processed were by way of court-issued search warrants, allowing Ring to turn over both information about a Ring user and video footage from those accounts. Ring said it turned over user content in response to about four out of 10 demands it received during the year.” 💙https://t.co/1EpjqDOfce 📰 Amazon’s Ring Neighbors app exposed users’ precise locations and home addresses “A security flaw in Ring’s Neighbors app was exposing the precise locations and home addresses of users who had posted to the app…Nextdoor and Citizen, that lets users anonymously alert nearby residents to crime and public-safety issues. While users’ posts are public, the app doesn’t display names or precise locations — though most include video taken by Ring doorbells and security cameras. The bug made it possible to retrieve the location data on users who posted to the app, including those who are reporting crimes.”💙https://techcrunch.com/2021/01/14/ring-neighbors-exposed-locations-addresses/ 📖 Additional reading 💙https://techcrunch.com/2018/02/27/amazon-is-buying-smart-doorbell-maker-ring/ 💙https://www.ajc.com/news/business/amazon-is-upss-biggest-customer-and-biggest-competitive-threat/YLL5UKTLDVB43GT4H2HU4MXQTM/ #pocketchangeinvestments #clubDCA

Do you DCA? Is there any specific Stock or ETF that you buy every month or every week? Dollar-cost averaging (DCA) is an investment strategy in which an investor divides up the total amount to be invested across periodic purchases of a target asset in an effort to reduce the impact of volatility on the overall purchase. #clubDCA , #dcaclub , #amazondollardca See more
