Meet Youssef Salem, CFO of Swvl.

Youssef Salem is the CFO of Swvl ($SWVL), a tech-enabled mass transit marketplace platform. Swvl is the first unicorn from the Middle East to list on Nasdaq and the first global transit platform to go public.

Swvl began trading on the Nasdaq on April 1, 2022 following a business combination with the sustainability-focused SPAC Queen’s Gambit Growth Capital. Queen’s Gambit has an all-female leadership team and board.

Swvl was founded in Egypt in 2017. Commuters use the app to reserve and pay for seats on privately owned buses. Swvl currently operates in 115 cities in 18 countries across Latin America, Europe, Africa, and Asia. According to the company, the platform has reduced more than 15 million of person-hours congestion and prevented more than 250 million pounds of Co2 emissions.
