Meet Erika Nardini, CEO of Barstool Sports, which is a strategic partner of the casino and racetrack operator Penn National Gaming ($PENN). Penn National Gaming currently holds a 36% stake in the sports and entertainment-focused digital media company.

Founded as a print publication in 2003, Barstool produces content across podcasts, streaming and on-demand video, social media, and its app and website. The company launched its online sports betting platform Barstool Sportsbook in 2020 and recently announced its first foray into acquiring TV sports rights as the exclusive title sponsor and broadcast partner of the upcoming Arizona Bowl. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Barstool launched Barstool Fund, a fundraising non-profit that provides financial support to small businesses across the US.

Erika joined Barstool as its first CEO in 2016 and has since been named one of the Most Powerful Women in Sports by Adweek and Forbes as well as one of Fast Company’s Most Creative People. Her podcast Token CEO features professional athletes, entrepreneurs, and more — offering listeners a behind-the-scenes look at her leadership style and advice for navigating the modern workplace.
